Indiana-Illinois Sea Grant: Marketing Position

Marketing Specialist (Extension - Regional Aquaculture) West Lafayette - College of Agriculture Administration 

 Description The Regional Aquaculture Marketing Extension Specialist will develop and deliver consumer- oriented aquaculture extension throughout the USDA North Central Region. The specialist will work in collaboration with the Great Lakes Sea Grant Programs and the USDA North Central Regional Aquaculture center to inform the market for local aquaculture products throughout the Midwest. 

 Main responsibilities will include: •
 • Working with social scientists to conduct and interpret a needs assessment to better understand what consumer- and marketing-oriented aquaculture programming is being done and how to best use extension to address consumer and producer needs 
 • Working with existing personnel throughout the North Central Region to develop and deliver extension programming to address needs 
 • Using quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of the programming and plan future work • Serving as a liaison among the Sea Grant programs, partnering universities, and other aquaculture stakeholders throughout the North Central Region 
 • Helping manage IISG’s online and social media aquaculture extension resources, including a project-specific website and social media presence programming throughout the North Central Region (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota) including: face-to-face programming, print and digital publications, and other forms of outreach and extension Developing, delivering, and evaluating consumer-oriented aquaculture extension Funding is secured for the first two years of this position and IISG administration will work with the successful candidate to secure additional future funding.  Qualifications Required: 
 • Master's degree in Marketing with a focus on food, food systems, or natural resources; environmental marketing; environmental economics; fisheries; natural resources management; or related field • Four years' experience working in extension, food systems, marketing, or a related field • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience; Bachelor's + 6 years' experience 
 • Valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license 
 • Ability to lift and carry 10 to 25 lbs. frequently Preferred: 
 • Familiarity with Sea Grant, NCRAC, and aquaculture production and marketing in the Midwestern United States Additional Information:
